Prayer and Meditation for the Wedding

Oh, don't ask what moves me so deeply, when I see your young blood flowing so joyfully. Why, laid on your clear forehead, heavy drops fall from my eyelashes. I once dreamed that I was a silly child, struggling diligently at the table; How overwhelming are the vocabulary that have again become hieroglyphs for me! And when I woke up, I cried hotly, because I now feel so clear and sober, that I transfer so unrestrictedly and without fear of scolding and rods.

So, when I look mildly into your face, where a thousand fresh germs of life rule, it is as if nature were holding my image up to me from the magic mirror. And all my hopes, the fire of my soul and the twilight of my love sun, what will yet disappear and what has disappeared, I must weep for all of that in you.
